A renowned European competition

During three days of competition, the young carpenters from European countries built sophisticated carpentry models and demonstrate the professional use of the building material wood, on a complex subject of carpentry for 22 hours in front of visiting professionals. These projects have been evaluated by a jury of European experts.

Every two years, carpenters from all over Europe meet for the European Carpentry Championship to determine the best carpenter nation and the best carpenter in Europe.

An outstanding exhibition

This European final was also an opportunity for the Fédération Compagnonnique des Compagnons du Tour de France and the Association Ouvrière des Compagnons du Devoir du Tour de France to present an exceptional exhibition of carpentry works by MOFs, MAFs and with two models and details of the Notre-Dame de Paris carpentry exhibited on the 1000m² site during the exhibition to promote the trades of carpenter and woodworker who are under pressure to recruit qualified workers within companies in the wood industry.

This high level technical competition featured about twenty young carpenters from 7 different countries who faced off against each other, accompanied by their coaches and experts:

 • Germany
 • Hungary
 • Netherlands
