A real first this year, the trade show will be exclusively hosting the national selection of candidates to go forward to the European Young Carpenter Contest. This contest sets out to present and showcase the talents of young professionals in the woodworking sector. Ten apprentices will be working for four days on projects using traditional know-how in the trade. The Eurobois Trophies
As a bona fide product launch platform, EUROBOIS 2018 recognizes innovation, new products, and examples of technological evolution presented by industrial and manufacturing exhibitors. This recognition comes in the shape of the EUROBOIS Awards. This year, these innovations will be showcased and easy to spot by professionals thanks to our new-product itinerary. This itinerary will enable them to find all the products and services of companies entering the competition, notably those shortlisted by the judges as potential Trophy winners. An award ceremony for the show’s best products will be held at 5pm, 7th February on the TV stage, attended by visiting professionals, manufacturers, and the press.
Manufacturing workshop for timber frame house structures
This reality timber construction event, coordinated by Mach Diffusion in partnership with the Auwarter, Hundegger, Klass All Road, Ludwigsystem, Manut LM, and Sema companies, will let visitors discover a production shop comprising two production lines, one traditional, the other digital.
The workshop will introduce visitors to all the machines, equipment, and tools needed to build a house. Professionals can thus discover each stage in this reconstruction of a manufacturing workshop as it happens: design, drawing, machining, assembly, finishing, handling, lifting, loading, installation.
Four timber frame houses will be constructed live in this event over the show’s four days. These houses will then be taken away by a TFH builder for use on real projects.
Technique Days for training professionals in tomorrow’s topics
FINNSO WOOD, in partnership with Le Bois International magazine, will during the show’s four days be holding technical instruction workshops for professionals, focusing on the sector’s major issues. Lasting 45 minutes each, these tackle tomorrow’s topics concretely and enable professionals to gain insights into and discuss a whole range of sector.
“Come shine the light on tomorrow’s trades”, a live, in-show event
Compagnons du Devoir will also this year be showing how they couple their training in excellence with the use of new manufacturing technologies. Before the public, on their stand, they will be making folding desk lamps whose bodies are machined by a robot arm while the members joining the parts together are 3D printed. These lamps will be offered to the visiting professionals after assembly on the stand.
Once again this year, exhibiting manufacturers and industrial companies will be demonstrating their involvement in EUROBOIS by hosting features on their stands : Biesse (stand 6G68), Blum (stand 6J56), Scm (stand 6K158), Wood Mizer (stand 5D20), are four of them.
